Reiki Drum Treatments

Drumming for healing and meditation is an ancient practice. In tribal cultures the power of sound over the body and spirit is well known, and now in the western world there is research supporting this - making this ancient wisdom more palatable to modern minds. Research suggests that brain activity can actually be affected by drumming, and there are studies showing how the sounds of a drum can help with illness and emotional trauma. Group drumming has been linked with improving the immune system, helping Alzheimer's patients, building self esteem, and supporting recovering drug addicts and alcoholics. These studies are hinting at what has been known by shamanic practitioners over the ages, and shamans today still know as they practice what is often known as medicine drumming.

The Reiki Drum Technique is the fusion of Reiki and medicine drumming. Popular in the United States, it is still very new to the UK and I am one of very few practitioners offering this service to clients in London and Kent. This intuitive practice introduces healing energy into the body of the client, shifting blockages and rebalancing the energy field. The bringing together of these two systems means that the energy of the drum becomes gentle, protective and works for the highest good of the client just as in a normal Reiki treatment. After an intuitive drum healing session, the experience is completed with a hands on Reiki treatment, a perfect conclusion.

Reiki Drum Healing Session

Healing energy is introduced into the client's energy field by gentle drumming slightly above the body. The treatment is finished with an intuitive, hands on Reiki session to integrate the healing and ensure the client is balanced and grounded afterwards. By drumming, the work is occurring at a deep level, the client can literally feel the vibrations moving through the body. These intense treatments are slightly shorter than a standard Reiki session.

Reiki Drum Journey

Shamanic or trance journey is an ancient and wide spread phenomenon, and can be compared to a meditation assisted by sound. The drum beat is used to facilitate an altered state of consciousness, allowing the client to mentally journey into another realm. During this journey, answers can be sought for any problem the client may be facing in their life, anything from career worries and relationship problems to grief and emotional trauma. The drum carries the client to receive the wisdom of Spirit and the higher self.

Reiki Drum Mental & Emotional Reprogramming

A drum healing session which engages the client on a conscious level as well as working with the subconscious. Our thought patterns actively construct not only our view of the world, but our experience of it. Many of us have come across the concept that if we hear something often enough, we come to believe it. This is true of our own thoughts - by focusing on negative beliefs, or continuing to harbour negative feelings from our past, we bring them into our present. At the beginning of each mental and emotional reprogramming sessions, the root of the problem can be discussed and discovered, and a positive affirmation to create change will be written. This will be used during the treatment, for a powerful healing experience on many different levels.
